I'm Laura Olachea, a professional Spanish teacher, based in Queretaro, Mexico.
I offer Spanish classes via Skype and in person, customized to meet your level and to achieve your language proficiency goals. Whether you are fluent, and wish to learn the fine points or advanced grammar, or you know only a few words, I'll work with you to create a lesson plan specific to your needs.
Lessons via Skype
Skype is an ideal way to study Spanish. Payment are very reasonable (especially compared to a live tutor in major USA/Canadian cities), and there's no commuting time!
At our first meeting we discuss your Spanish language experience and interests; and together, we create a study plan. Or, if you prefer, I will prepare a special program to boost your competence and confidence in Spanish.
One of the big advantages of taking private classes is the personalized attention each student receives. This allows you to tailor your program according to your needs.
What do I mean? Well, if you only want to study some grammar points, for example: conditional, imperfect and subjunctive, we would study only those parts of the grammar.
One Saturday each month, we watch a film at my home in Spanish with subtitles in Spanish. All the students come to my place and enjoy the time together. Popcorn and drinks are included!. In addition I offer special gatherings and outings for my students so we can celebrate important holidays and understand more of the customs and culture of Queretaro. These are free extra activities.
Until November 2008, I taught Spanish in Oaxaca in the Central Historic District. Now, I'm in Queretaro, and have my own classroom where you can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea during your Spanish lesson. I am located just a short ride from the Centro Historico.
If you would like to live with a Mexican family, I can help you with those arrangements before your visit.
